so this one time, a long, long time ago, my best friend and i may or may not have “borrowed” a bunch of recipes from her mother-in-law. and we maybe both printed out all these recipes and made ourselves undercover copies of this cookbook. if this actually happened, we probably thought we were so sneaky. and we might have gotten busted when she moved out of her place and her mother-in-law was helping her pack. oopsies! better to ask for forgiveness than permission right? well anyway . . .
i used to get all nervous and panicky when people asked me to make an appetizer. i don't know what it was, the pressure of everyone trying your food before the real meal was served? trying to figure out how to bring something delicious without having to heat it in the oven before serving (dips, stuffed mushrooms, etc.) i've since gotten over my phobia and actually really enjoy bringing along an appetizer to a party or family get-together. this is my slam dunk, go-to, always a winner appetizer that i always, ALWAYS get asked for the recipe when i bring it anywhere. next time you need a really easy appetizer that's basically impossible to mess up and for sure a winner, take this.
slam-dunk shrimp avocado dip
Hm….this sounds a little familiar? And yes, sometimes it is better to ask forgiveness than to ask permission. Especially when it comes to going shopping, right?
YES! always when shopping 😉
