I recently spoke at a women's retreat in utah and before i went to the retreat, i had the opportunity to work with the sweetest lady lucille at my local macy's as part of their free MyStylist service. lucille was so sweet and kind and easy to work with!
I made a tentative appointment online and then lucille called me to confirm the appointment, get my sizes in everything, and an idea of what i was looking for to wear to my special occasion.
Lucille helped me with a lot of very pretty options and was very patient with me even when things didn't fit quite right, a lot of the dresses were just a little too short, or just didn't quite fit the look i was going for.
I really liked this michael kors shirt dress but it was just a bit too short.
I tried on a few others and they were almost perfect but not quite . . .
The nice thing about working with lucille was that i could tell her what was working for me, and what wasn't, and she could go out on the floor and grab more pieces that were closer and closer to my taste until we found just the perfect thing.
And then we DID find the perfect thing! a free people skirt (not available online yet), paired with a thermal top. long enough in the skirt, warm but not TOO hot, and just the right feel for a mountain retreat. i tried a couple different fringe booties and finally decided on these steve madden fringe booties in taupe because they were a 9 out of 10 in comfort, where these open toed fringe booties were cute but a 6 at best on the comfort scale. and in the mountains, we do comfort.
I also tried out this powder blue thermal top but i liked the cream thermal top best with this gray skirt.
The only hang up i had with this skirt is that it has very high slits on either side, BUT macy's has free alteration services for any of their items that you buy full-price, so they stitched the slits up for me at no charge.
I loved this outfit and how it all perfectly came together.
