sometimes the best things are planned at the last minute. right?! that was definitely the case with this event. i met and made friends with cara of maskcara a few months back and basically fell in love with her. the kindest and most genuine person ever of all time. so a few weeks ago when i found out she was gonna be in my neck of the woods i jumped all over that like a hot tamale and immediately texted her asking if she wanted to do an event with me to try her makeup on some local bloggers! she agreed and i roped in michelle money and laura armstrong of the MM&L show – two of the most hilarious and wonderful women i know – and the four of us threw one majorly fun mini-makeover night. we ate some delicious food  (recipe for most-requested southwest salad with honey lime cilantro dressing here) and had waxing and glamming and dancing and photo boothing and mini-makeovering galore. we were spoiled with cupcakes from one sweet slice and had all the professional photos taken that you see below by shannon elizabeth photography.

honestly the only hard thing about this night was that i couldn't invite everyone! i wanted to so badly, but cara wanted to get the makeup on each girl so we had to limit the amount of people invited to the event. but i have a pretty awesome way to make it up to one of you. keep scrolling to see what i'm giving away because it's my FAVORITE giveaway i've ever done. yes!
