These days most kids are heading back to school in early August, and since we're already mostly through July, we have back to school outfits on the brain! This year I wanted to get a major head start on back to school shopping before the baby arrived, but while I was so pregnant, the thought of navigating the mall with two little ones was super overwhelming! This year our school clothing needs are actually pretty varied. Anabelle will be going to a school that requires a specific uniform, and Lyla will be at preschool and will be able to wear anything she wants. I totally thought I'd have to go to several different stores to get everything we needed, but thankfully Macy's was our one-stop shop for back to school clothes!
This pleated polo dress is perfect for Anabelle's school uniform guidelines – and I am obsessed with the contrast of the pleated skirt! I'm excited about how easy a uniform will make school mornings, but I still wanted Ani to be able to express her sweet personality a bit through her backpack!
This Wonder Woman backpack was just the ticket, and we can't wait to see all the projects and books she brings home in it! Of course, she freaked out over the glitter and sparkle, and I love thinking of her as a confident little Wonder Woman as she takes on the new school year. This backpack is super durable and I think it'll last all year no problem!
I also can't get over these knee-high boots. Doesn't she look like a little equestrian?! These exact ones are sold out, but we found a similar pair with a versatile black/brown leather contrast. Tall boots are going to be perfect as the days get a bit cooler–you can layer tall socks underneath to make sure their little toes stay toasty!
Since it stays warm into August and September here, I wanted Lyla to have some summery options for her school clothes. This whole outfit is perfect for her to run, jump, spin, and somersault in comfortably, so she's a happy kid!
Lyla's two-piece outfit is super cute! The bow detail on the blouse is definitely my favorite part of her little look. And of course she loved that her shorts were pink!! She is totally ready for new adventures at preschool.
Lyla's shoes are SO fun, and can be paired with basically any outfit because of all of the colors. And as you can see from the pictures, they were comfy enough for her to climb and play! She gets so many compliments in these flashy kicks. They make her feet look like a miniature light show when she gets to dancing!
