you guys, lyla is going to be THREE months this week!!! i am kind of (majorly) in denial. we have loved having her in our home so much. she really is the sweetest baby ever.
it's been really fun to test out some new baby products this time around, so all week i'll be blogging all things BABY, talking about some of my new baby faves, and will be releasing an updated best baby registry list ever on FRIDAY!
i really get psyched about any product that combines beauty with functionality, and when i first spotted the stokke sleepi mini i was pretty sure all my wildest bassinet dreams had come true. and they had.
*photos by emmy lowe photo, read more details about lyla's newborns and my tips on how to get the best newborns (and avoid the worst) here.
let me back up though and just give you some history on my feelings of a bassinet. i was 1 million percent convinced we would never use a bassinet when i was pregnant with my first baby. nope, she was going to sleep in her nursery, in her own crib, from night one.
but, like many things, you quickly realize once you're actually a parent that you end up doing many of those things you swear you'd never do. and when i found out i needed a c-section with my first baby, i had to give up my pride and use a bassinet for the first couple weeks with our baby sleeping right in our bedroom while i recovered from major surgery.
the bassinet we used for anabelle though was teeny tiny; it really only fit her for 2-3 weeks and then she was too big. and then we were left with a big, bulky bassinet to store that we only used for a couple weeks. which was okay when we lived in a house in utah that had a huge basement for storage, but not so ideal for a california house with virtually no storage space!
the stokke sleepi mini is what bassinet dreams are made of. it's little enough to put right next to your bedside for those first few nights of being home from the hospital and needing easy access to your little newborn, but not so tiny that they won't fit after a couple weeks.
we have also REALLY loved that the stokke sleepi mini has wheels! it rolls super easily from room to room, so we had her in our bedroom sometimes, but could roll her into the nursery sometimes. the flexibility of the stokke sleepi mini has been amazing this time around.
the stokke sleepi mini has been the perfect crib size for lyla until about two weeks ago. she's just getting to the point where she's a bit too big to sleep in it now, BUT the amazing thing is you can buy a conversion kit to grow with your baby and turn it into a full crib, and even someday a toddler bed.
i'll definitely be adding the stokke sleepi mini to my best baby registry list ever, but in the meantime you can get the stokke sleepi mini and conversion kit here.
