We FINALLY did it!!! Our guest room makeover is complete and I’m so excited to share the ways we updated this room that are totally practical and affordable.
The best parts of this reveal are the small businesses we worked with to pull it off and the DISCOUNT codes they’re offering!! Make sure you keep reading for Mint Arrow codes while checking out at Beddy’s, Indigo Design Co., and Boutique Rugs.
Bold bedding
For this room we decided to breathe life into it and totally change it up from the neutrals. We’re loving the fun and vibrant orange Beddy’s set that adds color to the space. I’m SO glad I stepped out of my comfort zone with something other than white for once. NOT THAT I DON'T LOVE MY ALL WHITE EVERYTHING IN OUR HOUSE!! But you know, sometimes variety is good. And I thought it would be so cute to have some orange for our guests who are visiting Orange County. Cheesy maybe? Cute yes.
Beddy’s are also amazing for the guest room because their zippered bedding makes it super easy for guests to make their beds (you know, if they're into that)! I'm thinking of when my mom visits more than when my brothers visit. Don’t forget to use my code MINTARROW for 20% OFF at Beddy’s!
Easiest wallpaper EVER
I was a little stumped with how to handle a major wall in the guest room that has an off-center window! After a TON of research and weighing different options with artwork, we decided instead that an Indigo Design Co. wallpaper would be the perfect solution!
This is amazing, high quality, removable wallpaper that's unbelievably EASY to do yourself!! It took a lot of convincing because Neil and I have had a totally frustrating time with DIY wallpaper in the past, but this was SO easy in comparison. It took us a few hours, but it was super simple to line up and look professionally done.
Indigo has tons of cute designs for every room and I promise this weekend project won’t leave you and your spouse in an argument right before date night!

Modern touches from lighting to rugs
We decided to update to a super affordable modern fan instead of a chandelier (requested by my mom who has dubbed this room “Gaga's room”) and we’re happy with how it turned out in functionality and design. I went with neutral wood tones and let my bold pops be in the bedding!
The rug definitely pulls the room together and completes the space, don't you think?!
I went with a cozy pick from Boutique Rugs and I'm super happy with the look and feel! I love how Boutique Rugs splits up their amazing inventory based on your goal of designing a small or medium room or finding a round rug; they even have machine-washable area rugs that take out all the cleaning worries.

Reuse & recycle
Pro tip: utilize your old bedroom furniture in the guest room!! We used our older nightstands and lamps from a previous house as finishing touches. This saved money with repurposing what we already owned and gives the room an elevated look!!
