How we first found out about HOKA running shoes
First things first – how did we even hear about HOKA running shoes?!
When Corrine's mom comes to town, there’s only two things she wants to do: walk the beach trail, and get acai bowls from her fave place, Banzai Bowls. If you're following Corrine on Instagram you might remember that her family came for a visit during New Years for the Rose Bowl, and her mom, sister-in-law, and her went down the beach trail with the babies in strollers.
During the beach walk with her family, Corrine noticed her SIL’s running shoes – they were super cute and something unique that she hadn’t seen before! When she asked her about them, she started describing how they're the best running shoes she's ever worn, and that they're like walking on clouds, and then her mom chimed in saying she was recently in an outdoor store where the sales associate told her that these sneakers needed to be her next pair of running shoes. HOKAs are a new, popular running shoe that really does in fact feel like you’re walking on clouds! We're calling these the best comfortable and supportive running shoes because you likely have to sacrifice some comfort with a truly supportive shoe, but not with these!
HOKAs have a different look about them with a thick sole that almost flares out and provides softer landings. These are a high sellout risk and now we totally see why Corrine's SIL sang their praises! Her mom tried on a pair and was blown away with the cushioned support which speaks volumes considering all of her foot issues – with plantar fasciitis she’s ALWAYS looking for the most comfortable shoes.
A lot of the shoes in the past that Corrine has recommended to her mom actually haven’t worked because of her foot issues, but the HOKAs made the cut!
