Heels and socks. Such a risky but fun combo for a boring, traditional girl like me. Kind of like dating a guy with a bullet bike (my husband totally had one while we were dating) where you say to yourself, “this is probably not the safest thing but that's kinda why I like it.” And such it is with this heels and socks combo. Once you try it you might just become addicted.
So what are the rules for wearing heels and socks? Well first off, there are no “rules” but if I were to advise a friend on how to try out this trend these would be my tips:
- The more skin that would show, the thinner the sock. Basically just don't wear a hiking sock with a dainty heel.
- Thicker socks can be worn with booties and boots. Peek out of the top, fold them down once if you want. SO cute for dressing warmer in the coming winter months.
If you've got an outfit that you want to wear with leggings and a bootie or heel but you don't want to just have bare skin between your heel and your legging, wearing socks with your heels is the perfect solution!
When I found this little casual dress I was immediately drawn to it, but it was WAY too short for me! So I paired it with leggings, some thin cute socks, and these cobalt pumps that would pop. I kind of wanted the socks and heels to be the statement piece in the outfit so I kept everything else black. P.S. the dress runs slightly large so go down 1 size!
I recently discovered a little treasure chest of Steve Madden shoes at Macys that always seem to be on sale! Right now my cobalt blue pumps are already on sale plus you get an extra 15% off with code RED at checkout. They come in 5 cute colors and fit true to size.
