Why is it that finding a cute, short but not too short, shirt dress is like trying to find a live unicorn? It's SO HARD! Sometimes it feels like they don't exist but in fact they DO exist and when I found this pink pleated shirtdress for $68 I was SOLD. *update: it's now ON SALE 40% off for $40.80!!!
This darling dress buttons down halfway – so all the way to the waistline (which is perfect if you happen to be breastfeeding!) and it hits me right at the knee, the perfect length for my sometimes hard to cover 5'9″ height legs.
Even though there are hints of black in the pattern I decided to warm this outfit up with some brown tones for the accessories. It was kind of a shot in the dark, one of those days where I just threw a few things on the register without trying them all on together because I was like “no freaking way am I taking my two kids into the dressing room with me to try on one outfit!!” Ha.
A stretchy thick brown belt, brown fringe booties, an amazing brown tote (more on that later), and my fave go-to brown sunnies.
I have to say though, I'm pretty happy with how it all came together.
Also, if you don't have this tote, YOU NEED IT IN YOUR LIFE! It is the greatest little $48 reversible tote and it comes in some of the cutest color combos! I've tried getting it in the cognac/aqua combo a couple times and they've been sold out but it's IN STOCK right now so I'd grab it while you can if you are obsessed like I am! It will look identical to this one on the outside (this is cognac/burgundy) but the inside will be that cute mint/aqua color and you can flip it around for a mint bag if you want!
My mom is like the bag queen of the world. I've given her many bags after I've been done blogging with them and this pink one from this post and this post is hands down her favorite. Which is funny because I've given her some really expensive bags in the past, but this one remains her favorite! Why? Because it's huge. Because it's reversible. Because it stands up all on its own. Because it looks like real leather but it's totally not, and therefore it's only $48.
Need a gift for the impossibly un-giftable person? Good because I just solved your problem.
This reversible tote is the type of tote you can give to a girly girl like me, a granola (my sister‘s self-proclaimed status), a teacher, a grandma, a youngster, anyone. ANYONE. And they will love it.

Hi Corinne, I’ve had that reversible tote in my shopping bag for at least a month but haven’t ordered yet because a lot of the reviews say it has a really overpowering smell. Have you noticed that with yours?
hey ashley! it has a little bit of a smell i guess, but it hasn’t bothered me?! my mom hasn’t complained about that either and she is REALLY sensitive to smells!! 😉

Just received my bag yesterday. I totally love it. Black and cognac. It is absolutely beautiful. The leather is very expensive looking. Certainly the bag looks a lot more expensive than what we paid. Great find. Thank you.
