Infertility affects about 6.1 million women in the united states alone, according to the CDC. And since April is infertility and infant loss awareness month, I asked one of my very best friends Kendyl Madsen, who knows the struggle of infertility better than almost anyone else I know, to share her story of getting her two babies here after hundreds of shots, tests and three full rounds of IVF. Kendyl was gracious enough to share her entire journey of ups and downs with getting pregnant and losing pregnancies, what they tried, how it felt, and most importantly, what helped her most from friends and loved ones who supported her through these trials. I'm confident that Kendyl's story will provide a lot of hope for other couples hoping to get pregnant, and more understanding and compassion for those who have loved ones who struggle with infertility or infant loss and how we can best support them.
