polka dotted dress & the kate spade NYFW preview

i'm back from fashion week and super excited to share a few little peeks into my trip!

new york fashion week is always a combination of exhilarating and exhausting. this year it was nearly perfect weather which was such a nice contrast from last year's unbelievably sweaty, humid, hot mess of fashion week weather.

so normally in my day-to-day life i don't wear super high-end clothing (let's be honest, most days i'm in sweats or yoga pants unless i'm shooting an outfit ha!) but fashion week is kind of the one time i shop in more expensive price points head-to-toe.

after trying on like 20 dresses this polka dotted dress was THE ONE. it just made me feel so pretty and feminine and with the polka dots i knew instantly it was the dress i wanted to wear to kate spade. i love that it's nice and lightweight too but pulls fall colors into the fabric. totally a transitional piece.

my girly bow toed shoes were a splurge but ones that i know i'll use over and over with basically anything that's black. i really love these karen walker sunglasses too – they're called super duper strength for a reason! not just cute but super effective on reducing glare on really sunny days.

and since i was going to the kate spade show i wanted to be sure to wear something ks, and her cedar street maise is a classic i own in another color and have used over and over again, so i knew this was a good investment piece for my wardrobe. and bonus, i found the black cedar street maise on sale here!!

they had thousands of fresh flowers everywhere – 30,000 to be exact!

this was my favorite look – the sparkly dress and all the mint accessories!!!

everyone got to take a bouquet of fresh flowers as they left, and then later in the day kate spade tweeted and instagrammed that they had flowers to share with new yorkers and gave away flowers to anyone who stopped by that afternoon. what a beautiful gift to the city during fashion week!
