Winter favorites: Splurge AND Save edition!

Have you guys seen the meme that says, “Just wondering, are there any other months in 2021 besides January?!” Haha. Guess what – it's fiiiiiinally February (!!!) and we are still in for the long haul with cold-weather clothes.

Where I'm at in Orange County it doesn't really warm up until July! In fact, May and June can be some of the coldest months here. So basically I'm still totally invested in my winter wardrobe. I went to Nordstrom for a little refresh and found a bunch of pieces that I LOVE and HAD to incorporate into my wardrobe. But I thought it would be super fun to do a SPLURGE or SAVE edition!! How good is your price radar?? Keep reading to find out!

Outfit 1: casual

Who doesn't need a new fleece for winter? I'm obsessed with the Colorblock Fleece Zip-Up Jacket color combo! Baby pink accents forever and ever.

SAVE: This $45 jacket is soooooo soft and perfect for layering! Also this isn't your mom's 1997 fleece that she made you and your siblings match in with a gigantic logo across the front. This is so soft you'll feel like you're wearing half of a blanket and you want to curl up and movie-marathon the rest of the day.

SPLURGE: You could also grab the splurge Kadence Fleece Zip Hoodie! It is so incredibly cozy, has pockets and comes in four amazing color combos! Machine wash, dry, and rewear on the daily for $98!

Closet staples

I paired the fleece with the jeans I wore on Thanksgiving (they are THAT comfortable!) and they might be my new favorite. High-waisted, skinny, flattering, and stretchy (size down if you are between sizes!) I love that these jeans are skinny all the way down, making them perfect to pair with boots. These Sperry's are simply the best winter shoes if you want your feet to stay warm and dry all day! They are perfect in rain or snow and are made so well, they will last you years and years.

Fashion & function

I've also been loving this mini MZ Wallace bag for the basics: keys, wallet, phone. It's the best small purse that has both fashion and function.

Outfit 2: layered

SAVE: I have a little secret for you bargain babes out there, The Perfect Cardigan literally feels and looks EXACTLY like the more expensive (SPLURGE) CozyChic Lite Long Cardigan. If you blindfolded me and asked me which was which, I wouldn't be able to tell you which one was $114 and which is only $49! BEST.DUPE.EVER for a total wardrobe staple that I wear all year long. Pair either cardigan with jeans, a dress, or even a bathing suit for a chilly evening at the beach!

Outfit 3: new favorite

SPLURGE: I found the $198 Josie Cardigan when I needed something to pair with jeans that I was trying on at Nordstrom. I never thought I would love it as much as I do, but truly it's one of my favorite pieces this season! The fit, color and style are literally perfect for any occasion, trust me!

SAVE: The Button Front Short Cardigan is a super similar save option to my new fave sweater! I love the on-trend chunky knit and that it comes in a pop of color option as well as this $58 neutral!

GOOD jeans

I love these Good American jeans, and the skinny silhouette pairs perfectly with the chunky knit sweater. The Kardashians really know their jeans, ladies!! They are designed to fit women's curves at any size and are so incredibly flattering.

Top it off

With this super simple outfit I wanted to have fun with the accessorizing! I cannot stop wearing or declaring my love for this floppy felt hat or Brixton hats in general. My most favorite feature of Brixton hats is that they come in SIZES. No one size fits all heads here! And to complete my outfit I threw on some black leather: my go-to black booties and the forever-favorite black Kate Spade satchel (currently sold out, but here's a similar one from Nordstrom)!

Outfit 4: trendy

SAVE: This Collarless Quilted Jacket save is an amazing take on a trend that is everywhere right now! It's such a flattering fit and an easy, chic way to incorporate quilting into your wardrobe. I like that it's a little more fitted and less formal than the splurge option; you can wear this $118 jacket with just about anything!

SPLURGE: The Walton Quilted Corduroy Shirt Jacket is also a great classic, especially if a longer coat is a must in your climate. This year, pretty much every major brand created their own version of this jacket, and this $168 one is one of my favorites! It's seriously timeless, has stellar reviews and is the best rust-hue that goes with everything.

“Go-with-everything” faves

I wore this season's IT piece with the jeans and booties from my Trunk Club order! I'm loving that I've been able to incorporate these pieces into so many of different outfits. Heads up: the booties are 40% off right now!!

Body Suit

I tried on soooo many nude bodysuits to find the PERFECT one, and wouldn't you know it: THIS IS IT! It is so flattering, the buttons make it so versatile, and still modest enough to be worn alone. I literally wore it with ALL FOUR of these Nordstrom splurge or save outfits!

Bodysuit tip: I never actually fasten the bodysuit! I just tuck it in and it stays that way much better than a traditional shirt without the all-day front to back snuggie 😉 haha TMI?

Tote-ally cute

To finish the outfit I grabbed one of my very favorite large totes! This bag is one of the most affordable and functional totes I own. Honestly, it's practically a mom hack (think church, laptop bag, work tote, diaper bag, etc)! I've had it for forever and it's still in perfect condition! I love gifting this bag from Nordstrom because it's super versatile, and the best quality and such an affordable wardrobe staple!
